DUBAI: British actress Millie Bobby Brown stars in a new advertising campaign for Abu Dhabi’s entertainment destination Yas Island, drawing inspiration from her hit Netflix series Stranger Things.
In the advert, Brown is seen preparing to ride Formula Rossa, the world’s fastest rollercoaster, alongside her husband Jake Bongiovi. Moments before launch, she asks about the speed and exits quickly upon learning it reaches 240 km per hour. The scene transitions into flickering lights and glitching effects reminiscent of Stranger Things.
Brown, who was announced as a Yas Island brand ambassador in November, also appears in another promotional clip set in the Byers’ living room, a key location from the series. The iconic alphabet wall lights up to spell “YAS,” referencing both the show and the destination.
Stranger Things, created by the Duffer Brothers, debuted in 2016 and became one of Netflix’s most successful series, with its fourth season drawing more than 140.7 million global views. The show has won more than 70 awards, including Emmys and a Screen Actors Guild Award.
The fifth and final season of the series is being released in stages, with episodes streaming through the end of the year.
Brown joins a lineup of celebrities previously featured in Yas Island campaigns, including Ryan Reynolds, Kevin Hart, and Jason Momoa, who appeared in a series of high-profile promotional adverts for the destination.
