
LOS ANGELES: Bad Bunny won album of the year at the 2026 Grammy Awards for Debí Tirar Más Fotos, becoming the first artist to receive the top prize for a Spanish-language album and closing out a night marked by historic moments.
Accepting the award in Spanish, the Puerto Rican artist dedicated the win to his homeland and to people who have migrated in pursuit of their dreams. He later switched to English to honor those who left their countries to build new futures.
British singer Olivia Dean was named best new artist, earning her first Grammy. In an emotional acceptance speech, she paid tribute to her immigrant family and described herself as “a product of bravery.”
The ceremony also featured a moving in memoriam segment honoring the legacies of Roberta Flack and D’Angelo.
In another standout moment, Ms. Lauryn Hill returned to the Grammy stage for the first time since 1999, when she made history as the first hip-hop artist to win album of the year for The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.
